Thanks to the weather, we'll be doing three more Christmases at some point: one with each set of my grandparents, plus Jake's parents. Received some very nice presents this year from Jake, my parents and brother, though, including a big work-appropriate bag, a digital picture frame, a flash drive, a very nice necklace (bought at a fundraiser for the local Girl Scout council) and a Nerf gun. Beaker even received something from my mom: a home-sewn fringed green blanket with multi-colored zebras on it.

In an effort to get out of the house, we spent part of today finishing our Christmas shopping, looking at stuff for Beaker and catching a flick at the dollar theater. I think Jake had more fun stroller shopping this afternoon than I did, as he came really close to taking apart several of the travel systems in the middle of the store. Still a little surprised he didn't whip out his Swiss Army knife on a couple of the strollers. (And full disclosure on the Christmas shopping: it was for two relatives who we've known for a while that we won't see before the end of 2009.)

Taking a cue from a good friend who gave birth to twins earlier this month, have started trolling eBay and Craig's List for a few baby items. Although we've set up a registry and an old friend is hosting a shower in 2010, the shower's less than three weeks from my due date. That, and there are certain things that I honestly don't expect anyone to give, specifically anything feeding-related other than burp cloths and bibs. And hey, I'll at least look into almost any opportunity to save some money...

It's snowing. So much so that the turnpikes and interstates are closed. So in addition to wrapping presents and our two Christmas Eve traditions (homemade chicken fajitas and "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics"), we're planning on watching the snow come down.

Jack and Roscoe briefly ventured into the snow. Neither went past the front step.

Jake's on the phone with his older half-brother, who lives just north of Oklahoma City. Apparently they received almost 18 inches at his farm today. Dang.

So I got to thinking the other night while driving home from Stillwater and came up with the soundtrack to my life over the last decade. The track listing is below in chronological order.

1. "Galapagos" -- Smashing Pumpkins
2. "Take it to the Limit" -- the Eagles
3. "William Tell Overture" -- Giacomo Rossini
4. "Always a Woman" -- Billy Joel
5. "If You're Not the One" -- Daniel Bedingfield
6. "Mexican Wine" -- Fountains of Wayne
7. "Life's Been Good" -- Joe Walsh
8. "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" -- Stevie Wonder
9. "No More Cloudy Nights" -- the Eagles
10. "Heart of the Matter" -- Don Henley

The office Christmas luncheon was today and we're all now fighting to stay awake. The receptionist wound up going on a caffeine run a little while ago, but it hasn't quite kicked in yet. Even Beaker's surprisingly quiet.

Just one more hour to go...
